Installing an SFF hot-plug drive
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure:

Make sure that the SFF hot-plug drive cage is installed.
•
Make sure that the SFF hot-plug drive option is available.
•
If you are installing SFF SAS drives with 10K or 15K rpm rate, make sure that the fan cage is installed.
Procedure
1. Open the front bezel on page 39.
2. Remove the drive blank.
3. Prepare the drive.
4. Install the SFF drive.
5. Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions.
6. Close the front bezel.
The installation is complete.
