Installing the redundant power supply enablement option

Procedure
1. Review the power supply warnings and cautions.

2. Remove the non-hot-plug power supply.

3. Install the RPS enablement option.
Remove the non-hot-plug power supply
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have T-10 Torx screwdriver available.
Procedure
1.
Remove the front bezel on page 39.
2.
Power down the server on page 38.
3.
Release the power cord from the strain relief clip.
4.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
5.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
6.
Do one of the following:
Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for hardware configuration on page 41.
Server in rack mode: Extend the server from the rack on page 43.
7.
Remove the access panel on page 48.
8.
Remove the air baffle on page 50.
9.
Observe the guidelines for managing cables.
10. Remove the Smart Storage Battery holder:
a. If a Smart Storage Battery is installed, disconnect the battery cable.
b. While holding the snap-in latch in the open position, slide the battery holder up to disengage it from
the chassis.
