a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.

Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5.
Do one of the following:
Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for hardware configuration on page 41.
Server in rack mode: Extend the server from the rack on page 43.

Remove the access panel on page 48.
7.
Remove the air baffle on page 50.
8.
If either an LTO tape drive or an RDX drive is installed, do the following:
a. Remove the fan from fan bay 1.
b. Install the blank in fan bay 1.

Note the orientation markers on the fan cage brackets: L for left and R for right.
In this procedure, left and right terminology is from the perspective of a user facing the front panel.
10. Install the fan cage brackets:
a. Align the notches on the bracket with the pins on the side of the chassis.
b. Slide the bracket towards the rear of the chassis until the spring plunger clicks into place.
c. Repeat steps a–b to install the other bracket.
11. Observe the guidelines for managing cables.
12. Make sure that all the system cables that are routed through the front cable channel are properly secured
in the metal cable tabs. This is done to prevent system damage due to cables being inadvertently caught
under the fan cage.
