14. Install the access panel on page 26.
15. Do one of the following:
Server in rack mode: Install the server into the rack on page 53.
Server in tower mode: Return the server to an upright position.
16. Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
17. Connect each power cord to the server.
18. Connect each power cord to the power source.
19. Power up the server on page 23.
The installation is complete.

Redundant power supply enablement option

The RPS enablement option supports the installation of two Gen10 Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) power supplies.
Adding a second power supply provides redundant power support to the server if one power supply fails. You
do not have to power down the server before removing or installing a redundant hot-plug power supply.

Installing the redundant power supply enablement option

Prerequisites
Before installing the redundant power supply enablement, read the power supply warnings and
cautions.
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
Redundant power supply enablement option
Flexible slot power supply
T-15 Torx screwdriver
Procedure
1.
Power down the server on page 23.
2.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
4.
Do one of the following:
Server in rack mode: Remove the server from the rack on page 23.
Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for hardware configuration on page 25.
5.
Remove the access panel on page 25.
