Installing and connecting the
operational unit
Install the operational unit on an appropriate flat metal plate having high resistance to vibration.
Use a metal plate with a thickness of 3mm (0.12in.) or less.
If the metal plate is thicker than 3mm, a modular connector for the RS-232C cable cannot be connected.
Environment
Not in the vicinity of devices that generate high heat or significant noise
Ambient temperature 0°C to 50°C (+32°F to +122°F) (non-freezing)
Installing the operational unit
Install the operational unit from the front side of the mounting hole. Press the operational unit until a
click can be heard so that the unit can be securely fastened.
Removing the operational unit
1. Remove the RS-232C cable from the operational unit.
2. To remove the unit, squeeze in the four hooks on the
top and bottom of the back of the operational unit at
the same time while pressing the unit toward the front.
How to connect
Connection and disconnection of the operational unit must
be performed before powering up the controller.
Note
Connect or disconnect the modular connector after making
sure the power of the controller is off. Connecting the
operational unit with the controller power on will result in
an error and the unit cannot be used.
Insert the supplied cable to the connector jack of the
operational unit and to the CN2 of the controller.
When removing the cable, depress the protrusion on the
modular connector before pulling out the cable.
Note
Be sure to use the cable provided. A modular cable for
connecting to a PC ( FC04W5 ) cannot be connected to the
operational unit.
