– Unscrew screws for radiator bearing -arrows-.
– Swivel the radiator slightly backwards.
– Strap capacitor to the lock support.
– Unhook radiator upwards and remove downwards.
Install
Installation is performed in a similar way in the reverse order. Pay
attention to the following points:
Note
When there is light pressure on the fins
Replace O-rings.
– Install front bumper ⇒ Body Work; Rep. gr. 63 .
– Install fan shroud
⇒ page 175
– Connect coolant hoses with quick coupling
– Replenish coolant
⇒ page 148
Note
If the radiator has been replaced, all the coolant must be changed.

Removing and installing radiator cowl
for radiator fan (Octavia III)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Catch pan , e.g. -VAS 6208-
Note
The removal and installation of the fan shroud with two radiator
fans is similar to the removal and installation of the radiator cowl
with one radiator fan.
WARNING
There is risk of injury from radiator fans starting up automati‐
cally.
♦ Before carrying out work in the fan shroud area, discon‐
nect the electrical plug connections.
♦ When the engine is warm, the cooling system is under
overpressure.
♦ Reduce excess pressure by covering the cap of the cool‐
ant expansion tank with a cloth and opening it carefully.
