– Unscrew nuts -1- for securing the exhaust pipe to the cylinder
head.
– Unscrew screws -2- for supporting the exhaust system and
strap up the exhaust system.
Note
Collect leaking coolant by placing a cloth under it.
– Loosen hose clamps -arrows- and remove coolant hoses.
WARNING
There is risk of injury from fuel.
♦ To relieve the fuel pressure, place a clean cloth around
the connection point and loosen the connection point care‐
fully before opening the fuel system.

– Disconnect the hose coupling on the fuel feed line -1-

– Disconnect the hose coupling -2- to the activated charcoal fil‐
ter ⇒ page 216 .
– Unclip the hose holder from the coolant expansion tank and
place the hoses to one side.
Note
On vehicles with an engine control unit with protective cover,

first remove the protective cover
