– Compare fuel quantity delivered with minimum flow quantity in

the diagram cm /15s.
Note
Voltage at the fuel pump when engine is not running and pump is
approximately 2 volts less than battery voltage.
If the minimum fuel delivery volume is not reached:
– Check the feed line to the filter for possible restrictions (kinks)
or blocking.
If the fuel line is O.K.:
– Take fuel tank cap off fuel filler neck and repeat the test.
If the fuel flow rate is now reached:
– Check the ventilation of the fuel tank.
If the minimum fuel delivery volume is still not reached:
– Check the fuel flow rate before the fuel filter.
– Disconnect fuel feed line -arrow- at fuel filter.
– Connect the pressure gauge -VAS 6550- with adapters -VAS
6550/1- and -VAS 6550/2- between the fuel filter and fuel feed
line.
– Make sure that drain tap is closed and cut-off taps are open.
– Compare fuel quantity delivered with minimum flow quantity in

the diagram cm /15s.
If the minimum fuel flow rate is now reached:
– Replace fuel filter.
If the minimum fuel delivery volume is still not reached:
– Remove fuel delivery unit and inspect filter strainer for soiling

If no fault was detected:
– Replace fuel delivery unit
