– Connect test instrument adapter -VAS 5565- to connector and
fuel delivery unit.
– Connect the remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- to the test instru‐
ment adapter -VAS 5565- and to Battery Plus (+).
Fuel pressure O.K. and pressure gauge -VAS 6550- connected
in the engine compartment
– Activate the remote control with short pauses in between until
an pressure of 0.4 MPa (4 bar) is built up.
Note
Lower pressure which has become too high by carefully opening
the shut-off valve.
– Observe pressure drop at pressure gauge.
The pressure must not drop below 0.3 MPa (3.0 bar) after 10
minutes.
If the pressure falls below 0.3 MPa (3.0 bar):
– Activate the remote control with short pauses in between until
an pressure of 0.4 MPa (4 bar) is built up.
– After pressure has built up, cut-off tap -B- of pressure tester -
VAS 6550- immediately. Lever is then at right angle to direc‐
tion of flow.
If the pressure does not drop now:
The leakage is on the engine side.
If the pressure again drops:
The leakage on the fuel tank side.
– Proceed as follows to check pressure retention valve at fuel
delivery unit:
