❑ Mark assignment to the cylinder and to the conrod bearing cap in colour -B-
❑ separate new conrod
❑ Fitting position: Orientation nubs -A- on big-end bearing cap must be identical on all covers
Note
The connecting rods are aligned in
the direction of the gearbox with
nubs -A- ex works. The connecting
rods can be aligned the other way
round during repair, but not all at the
same time. Orientation nubs -A- on
conrod bearing cap must be identi‐
cal on all covers
5 - Circlip
❑ 2 pieces
❑ replace
6 - Piston pin
❑ removing and installing
7 - Piston
❑ Mark the installation position and the assignment to cylinder
❑ removing and installing
❑ Checking piston and cylinder bore
8 - Piston rings
❑ Compression rings
❑ Measure end gap
❑ Measure vertical gap
❑ use commercially available piston ring pliers for removing and installing
❑ Fitting position: Identification "TOP" or labelled side for piston crown
❑ Offset joint 120°
9 - Piston rings
❑ Oil scraper rings
❑ carefully remove and install 3-part oil scraper rings by hand
❑ Measure end gap
❑ End clearance cannot be measured
