WARNING:
To meet safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
requirements and to ensure proper operation, you must properly ground the
services gateway chassis before connecting power. See
SRX5400 Services Gateway" on page 64
CAUTION:
Do not mix AC and DC power supplies within the same services
gateway. Damage to the device might occur.
You connect AC power to the device by attaching power cords from the AC power sources
to the AC appliance inlets located on the power supplies. The power cords are not provided
with the services gateway.
To connect the AC power cords to the device for each power supply (see
Figure 29 on page
66):
Locate or obtain the power cords you will use with the services gateway. The power

cords must have a plug appropriate for your geographical location.
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Move the AC switch next to the appliance inlet on the power supply to the off position

Insert the appliance coupler end of the power cord into the appliance inlet on the

power supply.
Insert the power cord plug into an external AC power source receptacle.

NOTE:
Each power supply must be connected to a dedicated AC power
feed and a dedicated external circuit breaker. We recommend that you
use a 15 A (250 VAC) minimum, or as permitted by local code.
Dress the power cord appropriately. Verify that the power cord does not block the air
