Logging off

• To log off a Solaris node, exit the OpenWindows desktop environment.
• To log off a Windows node, exit the Windows desktop.
The MPS 500 network continues to run without any manual input.
Note:
You cannot change software processes after logging off.

Logging Off a Solaris node

1. Close any tools that are running.
2. Click MENU on the desktop. The Workspace menu opens.
3. Select Exit.
4. The system prompts you to confirm the exit. Select Exit. The system exits OpenWindows
and displays the Solaris screen prompt. The node is still logged on as a user (or superuser).
Do one of the following:
• To return to the OpenWindows environment, enter openwin at the command prompt.
• To log off, type exit or press <CTRL>+D. The login screen appears.

Logging Off a Windows Node

1. Quit any applications that are running.
2. From the Start menu select Shut Down.
3. Select Log off XXXXXXX (where XXXXXXX represents the current login name).
4. The system prompts you to confirm the exit. Select OK. The login screen appears.
