Application Processor and LAN Configuration (Site
specific)
• □ Modify the /etc/hosts, /etc/ethers, /etc/hostname.XXX, and any other files that need to be
modified to match the external LAN ports to the customer LAN diagram received during the
presite survey.
• □ Configure the system for the provided netmasks and routers and gateways.
• □ After the system reboots, verify the LAN card configuration with the ifconfig –a command.
Check for IP addresses and masking.
• □ Verify the route table with the netstat –r command.
• □ Ping the router, then ping a device beyond the router.
• □ Verify that PERIVIEW still shows all devices green (up).

Application Processor System Testing

• Follow the Field Factory Test Guide and Installation Guide to:
- □ Install the proper loopback plugs on all TMS as directed.
- □ Point the license server to the temporary test license as directed.
- □ Run the test as directed. This test verifies all the installed hardware: TMS, DSPs, the
cabling to the patch panel, and so on.
- □ After testing is complete, remove all the loopback plugs.
- □ Redirect the license server back to the original customer license file as directed.
- □ Verify the licenses match the ones shown in the SDP using the plicmon command.
After the license server has started, check that the plservrc file can be read without error.
Use the command plicmon hostname.
• Follow the Installation Guide to:
- □ Run any recommended test that is valid for this AP and operating system release.
- □ Run any other recommended tests for additional FRU installed in the system that are
recommended in MPS 500 Installation and Commissioning Guide.
• List any additional tests that were completed and their results.
