Maintain the MPS 500 system LAN as a separate network segment whenever practical. If you must
(due to physical location or cabling constraints) connect the MPS Manager server to a shared (or
other site wide) Ethernet LAN with other devices, use a network bridge or a router device to connect
the MPS 500 LANs to the site network. This ensures that there are no adverse maintenance or
performance issues either for the MPS 500 LAN or for the common shared LAN. The MPS LAN is
shown connected to the common LAN in the following diagram.
