Maintenance
For Windows 2003: Select Start > Control Panel > Network Connection. Select
Connection > Properties > Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) > Properties. Modify the IP
address to that of the failed Windows server. Do not restart.
For Windows 2008: Start > Contrl Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing
Center > Change adapter settings. Select Local Area Connection > Properties >
internet Protocol(TCP/IP) > Properties. Modify the IP address to that of the failed
Windows server. Do not restart.
Change the computer name to the name of the failed Windows server. Do not restart.
c. Ensure that C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on the Windows server contains
the correct IP address and node name from steps

on page 183.
d. Change the Windows server component number on the system to the component
number of the failed Windows server:
a. Change the directory names of %MPSHOME%\oscarN to reflect the directory for
the component of the failed Windows server where N is the number of the failed
Windows server component.
b. Modify %MPSHOME%\common\etc\vpshosts so that the local Windows server
component numbers reflect the component numbers of the failed Windows server.
e. Update %MPSHOME%\common\etc\vpshosts and C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
\hosts on the Windows server to point to the appropriate MPS 500 AP and MPS 500
components.
7. Update Apache Information for Server Name:
a. Edit
For Windows 2003: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf
\httpd.conf
For Windows 2008 R2: C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation
\Apache2.2\conf\httpd.conf
b. Change the value of Server Name to the node name of the failed Windows server. This
is the same name used in step
8. Reboot.
