Drive Setup and Configuration

• Systems that are intended to provide RAID functionality MUST have both drives assembled
into a RAID-0 or RAID-1 array at the factory. Note that the RAID utility will not offer any choice
but VOLUME unless there is more than one drive present.
• To create an array, highlight the "Create Array" menu option in the RAID manager to display a
list of drives; highlight each drive with the arrow keys and use the space bar to select it. The
drive will be moved to the box on the right after each selection. When all drives have been
selected, use the "Enter" key to bring up the RAID selection menu. Select RAID-1 and "Enter";
keep hitting "Enter" to accept the defaults until the menu disappears and the storage volumes
are configured. Use a series of "Esc" to exit and reboot the server. The system can now be
loaded with the OS and software.
• To create separate Volumes check only one drive on the left and use the space bar followed by
the "Enter" key. Select VOLUME and "Enter". Keep hitting "Enter" to accept the defaults until
the menu disappears and the storage volume is configured. Repeat the process for the second
volume.
