2. If you have a desktop drive, remove the screws on the back of the case and slide the chassis
out. If you have a rack mount drive, remove the drive from its rack mounted enclosure.
3. For both the desktop and rack mount models, turn the chassis over and change the DIP
switch settings located on the bottom of the chassis. Use the following settings and refer to
the following diagram.
• 5-ON
• 6-OFF
• 7-ON
• 8-ON

Do not modify any other DIP switch settings.

Seagate Drives SCSI ID Settings

1. If you have a desktop drive, change the SCSI ID thumb wheel switch to ID 4. If you have a
rack mount drive, change the SCSI ID jumper settings to ID 4.
