3 The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Ask the
customer if they have experienced delayed engagement or an intermittent no Drive
condition. If the answer is No erase the code and return the vehicle to the customer.
Has the customer experienced any delayed engagement or no drive conditions?
Yes → Go To 4
→ The conditions necessary to set this code are not present at this
No
4 The transmission must be above 70 degree F. prior to checking fluid level. Adjusting
fluid level on a cold transmission will result in an overfilled transmission.
Check the transmission fluid level per the service information.
Is the fluid level OK?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Adjust fluid level. Repair cause of incorrect fluid level.
No
5 Using the DRBIII, perform a shift lever position test. Follow the instructions on the
DRB.
Did the Shift Lever Position Test pass?
Yes → Go To 6
→ Refer to symptom list and perform test for DTC P-0705.
No
6 Remove and inspect the transmission oil pan per service manual instructions.
Remove and inspect oil filter per service manual instructions.
Does the oil pan contain excessive debris and/or is the oil filter plugged?
Yes → Repair cause of plugged transmission oil filter.
→ Go To 7

Replace the Transmission Oil Pump per the service information.
