P0320-NO CRANK REFERENCE SIGNAL AT PCM —
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Measure the sensor ground circuit at the CKP sensor harness connector to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Check for an open sensor ground circuit. If OK, replace the
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the CKP signal circuit at the CKP Sensor connector.
Select a conclusion that best matches your voltage measurement.
Less than 4.5 volts
Between 4.5 and 5.5 volts
Greater than 5.5 volts

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module harness connectors.
Measure the resistance between the CKP Sensor signal circuit and ground at the
CKP Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the CKP signal circuit for a short to ground.
→ Go To 6
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module harness connectors.
Measure the resistance of the CKP signal circuit from the CKP sensor harness
connector to the PCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 7
→ Repair the CKP Signal circuit for an open.
No
ACTION
Powertrain Control Module.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Go To 5
Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Repair the CKP signal circuit for a shorted to voltage.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
