Symptom:
P1192-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE LOW
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P1192-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE LOW
When Monitored: With the ignition on and the engine running.
Set Condition: The inlet air temperature sensor voltage at the PCM goes below 0.50 volts.
IAT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
IAT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
IAT SENSOR
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT
TEST

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read the PCM DTCs.
Is the Good Trip Counter for P1192 displayed and equal to zero?
Yes → Go To 2
No

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read the INLET AIR TMP VLT value.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the IAT Sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read the INLET AIR TMP VLT value.
Did the INLET AIR TMP VLT value change from below 1.0 volt to above 4.5 volts?
No
Yes → Replace the IAT Sensor.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the IAT Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the PCM harness connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the IAT Sensor Signal circuit.
Is the resistance below 100k ohms?
Yes → Repair the IAT Sensor Signal circuit for a short to ground.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
→ Go To 6
→ Go To 3
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
→ Go To 4
