Using the DRB III, read and record SKIM DTC's.
Using the DRB III, erase SKIM DTC's
NOTE: Perform the following test several times to ensure the DTC is
current.
Turn the ignition off.
Wait 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition on.
Using the DRB, read the codes.
Does the DRB display the code that was previously erased?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Go To 7
No

Are there multiple vehicle ignition keys available?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Go To 4
No

NOTE: Perform the following steps using one of the vehicle ignition keys.
When finished, repeat the procedure using each of the other vehicle keys
one at a time.
Using the DRB III erase SKIM DTC's.
Turn the ignition off and wait ten seconds.
Turn the ignition on and wait 10 seconds.
Using the DRB III, read SKIM DTC's.
Is the DTC present for all ignition keys.
Yes → Replace the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module in accordance with
→ Replace the ignition key(s) that cause the SKIM DTC.
No

Using the DRB, attempt to reprogram the ignition keys to the SKIM.
Using the DRB, erase SKIM codes.
Wait 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition on.
Using the DRB, read the SKIM codes.
Does the code reset?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Test Complete.
No
5
Replace the ignition key with a new key.
Using the DRB, program the new ignition key to the SKIM.
Using the DRB, erase SKIM codes.
Turn the ignition off.
Wait 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition on.
Using the DRB, read the codes.
Does the code appear?
Yes → Go To 6
→ Test Complete.
No
