TRANSMISSION
P1767-TRANSMISSION RELAY ALWAYS ON —
TEST

Turn ignition off to the lock position.
Remove the Transmission Control Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance between the Fused B(+) circuit and the Transmission Control
Relay Output Circuit in the relay. (Pins 30 and 87)
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Replace the Transmission Control Relay
No

Turn ignition off to the lock position.
Remove the Transmission Control Relay from the PDC.
Disconnect the TCM harness connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Ignition on, engine not running.
Measure the voltage at the Transmission Control Relay Output circuit in the relay
PDC connector.
Is the voltage above 3.0 volts?
Yes → Repair the Transmission Control Relay Output circuit shorted to
→ Go To 5
No

Turn ignition off to the lock position.
Remove the Transmission Control Relay from the PDC.
Ignition on, engine not running.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the voltage at the Transmission Relay Control circuit in the relay PDC
connector.
Is the voltage above 3.0 volts?
Yes → Repair Transmission Relay Control Circuit shorted to voltage.
→ Go To 6
No

If there are no possible causes remaining, replace the TCM.
View repair options.

The conditions necessary to set the DTC are not present at this time. Using the
schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
Wiggle the wires while checking for shorts and open circuits.
Were any problems found?
Yes → Repair defective wiring and/or connector as necessary.
→ Test Complete.
