*CHECKING OIL PRESSURE SWITCH —
TEST

Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Did the Low Oil Pressure Warning Lamp go out?
Yes → Replace the Engine Oil Pressure Switch.
→ Go To 6
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the PCM harness connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Engine Oil Pressure Switch Sense
circuit.
Is the resistance above 100 kohms?
Yes → Go To 7
→ Repair the Engine Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit for a short to
No

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair

Turn the ignition off.
Push and hold the Trip Reset Button, located on the cluster, while turning the
ignition key on.
Note: This will place the cluster in Self Test Mode.
Observe the Low Oil Pressure Warning Lamp during the Self Test Mode.
Does the Low Oil Pressure Warning Lamp illuminate?
Yes → Go To 9
→ Go To 12
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Connect a jumper wire between the Engine Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit and
ground.
Did the Low Oil Pressure Warning Lamp illuminate?
Yes → Replace the Engine Oil Pressure Switch.
→ Go To 10
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the PCM harness connectors.
Measure resistance of the Engine Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 11
→ Repair the Engine Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit for an open.
No
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
ground.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
