Symptom:
*CHECKING IAC MOTOR OPERATION WITH NO DTC'S
ACTUATOR TEST
CHECKING FOR VACUUM LEAKS
CHECKING FOR OPEN DRIVER CIRCUITS
CHECKING IAC HARNESS CONNECTOR
IAC MOTOR
PCM - IAC MOTOR DRIVER
TEST
1
Start and idle the engine.
With the DRB III in Engine actuator test, set the engine speed to 1400 RPM and wait
10 seconds. Set the engine speed to 900 RPM and wait 10 seconds.
Did the engine speed change from 1400 RPM to 900 RPM?
Yes → With the DRB III, stop all tests. Test complete.
→ Go To 2
No

Start and idle the engine.
Inspect the engine for any vacuum leak(s).
Is there any vacuum leak(s)?
Yes → Repair vacuum leak(s) as necessary.
→ Go To 3
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the IAC Motor harness connector.
Start and idle the engine.
Using a test light connected to ground, probe the IAC Driver #1 circuit for 10 seconds.
Repeat the above test for the remaining IAC Motor Driver circuits.
Does the test light turn on and off while probing each IAC Motor Driver circuit?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Go To 7
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the IAC Motor harness connector.
Start and idle the engine.
Using a test light connected to B+, probe the IAC Driver #1 circuit for 10 seconds.
Repeat the above test for the remaining IAC Motor Driver circuits.
Does the test light turn on and off while probing each IAC Motor Driver circuit?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Go To 8
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
