DRIVEABILITY - GAS
P0122-THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR VOLTAGE LOW —
TEST

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair

Start the engine and allow the engine to idle.
Warning: KEEP CLEAR OF THE ENGINE'S MOVING PARTS.
Wiggle the Throttle Position Sensor connectors and harness.
Monitor the engine RPM.
Was there any change in engine RPM when wiggled?
Yes → Repair the harness or connector that caused the engine RPM to
→ Go To 10
No

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , read TPS VOLTS.
While monitoring the DRBIII , slowly open and close the Throttle.
Is the voltage change smooth?
Yes → Go To 11
→ Replace the Throttle Position Sensor.
No

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read TP Sensor voltage.
Wiggle the Throttle Position Sensor Connectors and Harness.
Monitor the DRB display.
Was there any change in Throttle Position Sensor voltage when wiggled?
Yes → Repair the harness or connector that caused the voltage change.
→ Go To 12
No

Turn the ignition on.
Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the Throttle Position Sensor wiring and
connectors.
Were any problems found?
Yes → Repair as necessary.
→ Test Complete.
No
ACTION
Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
change.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
