DRIVEABILITY - GAS
P0320-NO CRANK REFERENCE SIGNAL AT PCM —
TEST
7 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module harness connectors.
Measure the resistance between the CKP Sensor Signal circuit and the Sensor
Ground circuit at the CKP Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the CKP signal circuit for a short to the sensor ground
→ Go To 8
No
8 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
9 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the 8 volt supply circuit from the CKP sensor harness
connector to the PCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 10
→ Repair the 8 volt supply circuit for an open.
No
10 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the 8 volt supply circuit at the CKP sensor harness
connector to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the 8 volt supply circuit for a short to ground.
→ Go To 11
No
11 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the 8 volt supply circuit and the CKP signal circuit
at the CKP sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the 8 volt supply circuit for a short to the CKP signal
→ Go To 12
No
12 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair

Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.

Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
