DRIVEABILITY - GAS
Symptom:
P1297-NO CHANGE IN MAP FROM START TO RUN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P1297-NO CHANGE IN MAP FROM START TO RUN
When Monitored: With engine RPM above 400 but less than 1500 and the throttle blade
at closed throttle.
Set Condition: Too small a difference is seen between barometric pressure at ignition on
and manifold vacuum (engine running) for 1.76 seconds.
MAP SENSOR TOO LOW CODE SET
MAP SENSOR WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM
VACUUM PORTS RESTRICTED
MAP SENSOR 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN
MAP SENSOR (NO PRESS CHANGE)
MAP SENSOR (PRESS CHANGE)
MAP SENSOR RESTRICTED
TEST

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read Codes.
Is the MAP Sensor Voltage Too Low code set?
Yes → Refer to symptom P0107 MAP SENSOR VOLTS TOO LOW in the
→ Go To 2
No

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, erase codes.
Start engine and allow engine to idle for 30 seconds.
With the DRB, read the codes.
Does the DRB display No Change In MAP From Start To Run?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Go To 6
No
