Symptom:
P1389-NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P1389-NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM
When Monitored: With ignition key on, battery voltage above 10 volts.
Set Condition: No voltage sensed at the PCM when the ASD relay is energized.
WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT
ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
FUSED B+ CIRCUIT OPEN

TEST

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , read DTC's.
Is DTC P1388 set?
Yes → Refer to symptom P1388-AUTO SHUTDOWN RELAY CONTROL
→ Go To 2
No

With the DRBIII , erase DTC's.
Attempt to start the engine. If the engine will not start, crank the engine for at least
15 seconds.
Does the DTC reset? If necessary, crank the engine several times.
Yes → Go To 3
→ Go To 9
No

Attempt to start the engine. If the engine will not start, crank the engine for at least
15 seconds.
Did the engine start?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Go To 6
No
