SPEED CONTROL
Symptom:
*CHECKING SPEED CONTROL OPERATION WITH NO DTC'S
PRESENT
NTC-CHECK THROTTLE CABLE
NTC-CHECK S/C VACUUM SUPPLY
DRB DOES NOT SHOW P/N SWITCH D/R
SPEED CONTROL SWITCH SIGNAL CKT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
SPEED CONTROL SW SIG CKT OPEN PCM TO CLOCKSPRING
SW GRD CK OPEN AT CLOCKSPRING
SPEED CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN CLOCKSPRING TO S/C SWITCH
CLOCKSPRING SHORTED TO GROUND
NTC-S/C SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO S/C SW GROUND
NTC-S/C SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
CHECK S/C SWITCH
PCM
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Inspect the throttle cable and linkage for any binding or damage.
Is the cable or linkage disconnected or damaged?
Yes → Repair as necessary.
→ Go To 2
No

Start the engine.
Allow engine to idle for 1 minute.
Disconnect the vacuum supply line at the S/C servo.
Check the vacuum supply at the S/C Servo.
Is the vacuum supply OK?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Repair the Speed Control Servo Vacuum Supply.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 4.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 4.
