HEATING & A/C
Symptom:
*CHECKING A/C SYSTEM OPERATION WITH NO DTC'S
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM NOT PROPERLY CHARGED
A/C CLUTCH RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT OPEN
A/C CLUTCH COIL
A/C CLUTCH RELAY
TEST
1 Ignition On, Engine Not Running
With the DRBIII , read DTC's.
Is there an A/C Clutch Relay DTC?
Yes → Go To 2
No
2 Turn the Ignition off.
Verify that the Refrigerant System is properly charged per service procedure.
Is the Refrigerant System properly charged?
Yes → Go To 3
No
3 Ignition On, Engine Not Running
With the DRBIII , actuate the A/C Clutch Relay.
Did the A/C Clutch actuate?
Yes → Go To 4
No
4 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch harness connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance of the A/C Compressor Clutch Ground Circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 5
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
→ Go To 2
→ Properly charge the Refrigerant System per the service informa-
tion.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
→ Go To 4
→ Repair the open A/C compressor clutch ground circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
