P0645-A/C CLUTCH RELAY CIRCUIT —
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Remove the A/C Clutch Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the Fused Ignition Switch Output Circuit voltage at A/C clutch relay.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
Yes → Go To 5
No

Turn the ignition off.
Remove the A/C Clutch Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance between Terminals 1(85) and 2 (86) of the A/C Clutch Relay.
Is the resistance between 50.0 and 90.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 6
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector(s).
Remove the A/C Clutch Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance of the A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit from the Relay cavity
in PDC to the PCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 7
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector(s).
Remove the A/C Clutch Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the A/C Clutch Control Circuit resistance at PCM harness connector to
ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit for a short to ground.
No

If there are no possible causes remaining, replace the Powertrain Control Module.

ACTION
→ Repair the open Fused Ignition Switch Output Circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
→ Replace the A/C Clutch Relay.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
→ Repair open A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
→ Go To 8
Replace the PCM.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
