P0622-GENERATOR FIELD NOT SWITCHING PROPERLY —
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector(s).
Disconnect the Generator Field harness connector.
Measure the Generator Field Driver Circuit from PCM Connector to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Generator Field Driver Circuit shorted to ground.
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connectors.
Disconnect the Generator Field harness connector.
Note: Check Connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the Generator Field Driver Circuit from PCM to Generator.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 7
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Generator Field harness connector at back of the Generator.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure resistance across the Generator Field Terminals at the Generator.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Generator as necessary.
No

If there are no possible causes remaining.
View repair options.
Repair
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 3.
→ Go To 6
→ Repair the open Generator Field Driver Circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 3.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 3.
→ Go To 8
Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 3.
