DRIVEABILITY - GAS
Symptom:
P0106-BAROMETRIC PRESSURE OUT OF RANGE
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P0106-BAROMETRIC PRESSURE OUT OF RANGE
When Monitored: With the ignition key on at less than 350 milliseconds and engine speed
at less than 255 RPM.
Set Condition: The PCM senses the voltage from the MAP sensor to be less than 2.196
volts but above 0.019 volts for 300 milliseconds.
MAP SENSOR WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM
MAP SENSOR WIRING HARNESS OBSERVABLE
MAP SENSOR 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT
MAP SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
MAP SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT HIGH RESISTANCE TO GROUND
MAP SENSOR
PCM
TEST
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read the MAP Sensor Voltage.
Is the voltage below 2.2 volts?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Go To 9
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the MAP Sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, monitor the MAP Sensor Voltage.
Cycle the ignition switch from OFF to ON.
Is the voltage above 4.9 volts?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Go To 6
No

Turn the ignition on.
Disconnect the MAP Sensor harness connector.
Measure the 5 Volt Supply circuit at the MAP Sensor harness connector.
Is the voltage above 4.0 volts?
Yes → Replace the MAP Sensor.
→ Go To 4
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
