DRIVEABILITY - GAS
Symptom:
P0122-THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR VOLTAGE LOW
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P0122-THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR VOLTAGE LOW
When Monitored: With the ignition on and battery voltage above 10.4 volts.
Set Condition: Throttle position sensor voltage at the PCM is 0.2 volt for 0.7 seconds.
TPS VOLTAGE CHANGE NOT SMOOTH
TPS CONNECTORS/HARNESS INTERMITTENT (D)
TPS HARNESS/CONNECTORS INTERMITTENT (C)
TPS HARNESS/CONNECTORS OBSERVABLE
TPS 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN
TPS 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
TPS SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
TPS SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (VOLTAGE > 1.0 VOLT WITH THROTTLE CLOSED)
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
TEST
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read the Throttle Position Sensor voltage.
Is the Throttle Position Sensor voltage below 0.2 volt?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Go To 9
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TP sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, read the Throttle Position Sensor voltage.
Is the voltage above 1.0 volt?
Yes → Replace the Throttle Position Sensor.
→ Go To 3
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
