9.6 The Cutting Results Are Unsatisfactory

Symptom
• The cut corners are too rounded.
• The cut corners are too sharp.
• The cut line starts out crooked.
• The blade skips and does not
completely cut lines that should be
solid.
• Coarse resolution of curved lines
• The media curls up at the corners.
• Fine cut characters come off.
• The blade is cutting into the
backing sheet.
• The blade falls out of the plunger.
• Media can be cut but it is hard to
weed afterwards.
• Cut media cannot be pulled up
using retact sheet.
• Abnormal noise generated by
cutter pen during cutting.
• The media is discolored where the
blade has passed.

Cause
The CUTTER OFFSET is
incompatible with the blade type
being used.
The blade mounted in the holder
does not rotate smoothly.
The CB09UA spring has come
loose from the blade.
The blade is extended too far.
The cutting SPEED is too high.
The software's resolution setting is
too low.
The blade offset angle is too low.
The blade is extended too far.
The CUTTER OFFSET is
incompatible with the blade type
being used.
The cutting SPEED is too high.
The blade is dull.
The QUALITY setting is too high.
The blade is extended too far.

The blade is too small for the

Insufficient grease
The retack sheet is not sticky

Solution
Adjust CUTTER OFFSET value.
If too low, corners become rounded.

Remove any foreign matter inside
the pen holder.
Replace the blade with a new one
which has a spring.
Adjust the blade length.
Lower the SPEED setting.
Adjust the software's resolution
setting.
Raise the blade offset angle.
