Press the ENTER key to register the newly specified position. The displayed X-
and Y-coordinate values represent the current pen carriage position as X- and
Y-axis offsets from the current origin. Press the F2 key to select DEFAULT if
you do not wish to change the current LL position. The current position is then
set as the lower-left position. You do not need to press the ENTER key if the
DEFAULT LL position was selected.

Once the lower-left position has been set, the following menu for setting the
upper-right position appears.

Use the POSITION keys to move the pen carriage to the desired upper-right
setting position.

Press the ENTER key to register the new specified position. The displayed X-
and Y-coordinate values represent the current pen carriage position as X- and
Y-axis offsets from the current origin. Press the F4 key to select DEFAULT if
you do not wish to change the current LL position. The current position is then
set as the upper-right position. You do not need to press the ENTER key if the
DEFAULT UR position was selected.
10 Press the MENU key to return the plotter to Ready status.
• After the LL and UR settings have been made, the origin is moved to the lower-
left point.
• Neither the LL nor the UR setting can be set to a position outside of the actual
dimensions of the media to be cut.
• The AREA function specifies the Lower Left and Upper Right points. If you
mistakenly specify a point that would result in less than a 5-mm distance along
the X or Y axis between the upper left and lower right points or between the
lower left and upper right points, the message below is displayed for several
seconds.
ILLEGAL PLOT AREA
• If this message appears, specify the AREA settings over again.
• Whenever the ROTATE or MIRROR mode is specified or cancelled after
specifying new LL and UR positions, your LL and UR settings are initialized to
their default positions.
An AREA setting that moves the LL or UR point to a position that is in front of
the origin point in the media feed direction cannot be specified.
When the origin is set as shown in the example below, the shaded area
represents the effective cutting/plotting area defined by the LL and UR points.
