Abbreviation
CNG
1,100-Hz tone specified by T.30 in-
dicating the facsimile machine has
the automatic call function.
CM
It mainly indicates an available
modulation method such as V.21,
V.27ter, V.29, V17 and V.34.

It indicates the detection of the JM
signal or the termination of CM sig-
nal.
CI
It indicates the general communi-
cation functions. It is sent when
the V.8 procedure restarts.
Abbreviation
ANSam
2,100-Hz tone amplitude-modulated
to 15 Hz.
JM
It indicates the terminal type such
as a facsimile machine, and is a
response to a CM sent from the
transmitter and indicates jointly
available modulation method.
