3.4.3 Transfer Process
This process transfers the toner image formed on the drum surface to the recording paper.
When a high voltage is supplied to the Transfer charger wire, the back side of recording paper is
charged positive by the corona discharge. Then, the toner image on the drum surface is trans-
ferred to the recording paper.

3.4.4 Discharge Process
The discharge process clears the positive charge remained on the back of recording paper.
When a high voltage is supplied to the Discharge wire, the back of recording paper is charged
negative by the corona discharge.
This process is used to prevent an occurrence of print quality problem (black or white spots,
etc.) which might be seen on paper with higher resistance, such as transparencies.
