Lubrication Points

Proper lubrication is important for smooth operation and long life of each working part of the motorcycle.
Major lubrication points are indicated below.
NOTE
• Before lubricating each part, clean off any rusty spots and wipe off any grease, oil, dirt or grime.
• Lubricate exposed parts which are subject to rust, with a rust preventative spray whenever the
motorcycle has been operated under wet or rainy conditions.

1. Rear brake lever holder
2. Side-stand pivot and spring hooks
3. Center stand pivot and spring hooks
Air Cleaner Element Removal and Installation
Refer to "Air Cleaner Element Removal and Installation
(Page0B-2)".
Inspect air cleaner element
Every 6 000 km (4 000 miles, 12 months)
Replace air cleaner element
Every 18 000 km (11 000 miles, 36 months)
Removal
1) Remove the helmet box front cover (1). Refer to
"Helmet Box Front Cover Removal and Installation in
Section 9D (Page9D-16)".

Maintenance and Lubrication:

5. Throttle cables
: Apply grease.
2) Remove the air cleaner cover (2) and air cleaner
element.
Installation
Install air cleaner element in the reverse order of
removal. Pay attention to the following points:
• When installing the air cleaner element, fit the
element to the cover first.
• When cleaning or installing the air cleaner element,
drain water from the air cleaner box by removing the
drain plugs. Refer to "Air Cleaner Box Removal and
Installation in Section 1D (Page1D-9)".
