0B-9 Maintenance and Lubrication:
Engine Oil and Filter Change
Replace engine oil
Initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 2 month) and every 6
000 km (4 000 miles, 12 months) thereafter
Replace oil filter
Initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 2 month) and every
18 000 km (11 000 miles, 36 months) thereafter
Oil should be changed while the engine is warm. Oil filter
replacement at the above intervals, should be done
together with the engine oil change.
Engine Oil Change
1) Keep the motorcycle upright with the center stand.
2) Place an oil pan below the engine, and drain oil by
removing the drain plug (1) and filler cap (2).
3) Tighten the oil drain plug to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Oil drain plug: 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
4) Pour new oil through the oil filler. When performing
an oil change (without oil filter replacement), the
engine will hold about 1.2 L (1.3/1.1 US/Imp qt) of oil.
Use SF/SG or SH/SJ in API with MA in JASO.
5) Start the engine and allow it to run for three minutes
at idling speed.

6) Turn off the engine and wait about three minutes,
then check the oil level through the inspection
window. If the level is below mark "L", add oil to "F"
level. If the level is above mark "F", drain oil to "F"
level.
Oil Filter Replacement
1) Drain engine oil in the same manner of engine oil
replacement procedures.
2) Remove the oil filter cap (1) and oil filter (2).

3) Replace the O-ring (3) with a new one.
4) Install the spring (4) to the oil filter cap.
5) Replace the O-ring (5) with a new one and apply
engine oil to it.
