Maintenance Object Repair Procedure

UPS (Server UPS)

The UPS MO supports the UPS device for each S8700 Media Server. This MO's
maintenance software reacts to UPS-generated inline errors via SNMP traps.
NOTE:
This MO provides no periodic or on-demand tests.

Definition of Traps
Alarm string = #1, ACT, UPS, A, 6, SUP, power failure: Shutting
down in 3 minutes.
If the event ID is 6, the UPS battery's power is in a critically low
condition, with an estimated 3 minutes of remaining holdover.
A warning is written to every logged-in user of the server.
When 3 minutes elapse, the server begins shutting down.
Alarm string = #1, ACT, UPS, A, 7, SUP, power failure: Shutting
down in 4 minutes.
The UPS battery's power is in a critically low condition, with an
estimated 4 minutes of remaining holdover.
A warning is written to every logged-in user of the server.
When 4 minutes elapse, the server begins shutting down.
Alarm string = #1, ACT, UPS, A, 7, SUP, power failure: Shutting
down in 5 minutes.
The UPS battery's power is in a critically low condition, with an
estimated 5 minutes of remaining holdover.
A warning is written to every logged-in user of the server.
When 5 minutes elapse, the server begins shutting down.
Alarm string = #1, ACT, UPS, A, 9,WRN, Miscellaneous trap, e.g.,
bad battery.
This UPS trap [Event #9] is a miscellaneous environmental alarm
sent from the UPS that supports server A. For example, the battery
may be bad and should be replaced.
