Objectives

This guide describes the supported protocols and software features, and provides configuration instructions
and examples, for the Dell Force10 MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module running FTOS version 8.3.16.4.
The MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module is installed in a Dell PowerEdge M1000e Enclosure. For
information about how to install and perform the initial switch configuration, refer to the Getting Started
Guides on the Dell Support website at http://support.dell.com/manuals.
Though this guide contains information about protocols, it is not intended to be a complete reference. This
guide is a reference for configuring protocols on Dell Force10 systems. For complete information about
