• If a link-local address has not yet been assigned to this interface, this
command will assign the specified static global unicast address and
also dynamically generate a link-local unicast address for the interface.
(The link-local address is made with an address prefix of FE80 and a
host portion based the router's MAC address in modified EUI-64
format.)
• If a duplicate address is detected, a warning message is sent to the
console.
Example
This example uses the general network prefix of 2009:DB9:2229::/48 used
in an earlier example, and then specifies the subsequent prefix bits
0:0:0:7279::/64, and finally the host address portion of 79.
