This chapter includes regulatory information for American, Canadian and
International installations pertinent to the Small System installation.
WARNING
The fiber-optic interface product used in the
Small System is considered safe. However, as a
precaution do not look directly at the optical port or the
end of fiber-optic cable.
Under certain conditions (such as during cable testing or
under light magnification), the cable or port may expose
your eyes beyond the limits of Maximum Permissible
Exposure recommended in some jurisdictions. Do not
remove protective caps or plugs until ready to connect the
cable.
The Small System complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. Each system
cabinet or chassis has a label containing the FCC registration number and
Ringer Equivalence Number (REN). For the Cabinet system equipment, the
label is on the lower left corner of each system cabinet. For the
Chassis system equipment, the label is on the back of each system chassis. If
requested, this information must be provided to the telephone company.
