Grounding instructions for cabinets and chassis

chassis cannot be powered from the same service panel, it must be grounded
separately from the others back to the service panel that supplies it.
For an expanded Chassis system, all chassis and chassis expander pairs must
be powered from the same service panel.
See Table 19 for region-specific grounding requirements.

Procedure 12 describes how to ground Small System cabinets or chassis.
Repeat the steps for each cabinet or for each chassis and chassis expander pair
installed in the system.

Grounding the cabinets or chassis

Make sure that you disconnect the ac power cord from the power outlet.
Note: For the Chassis system in an equipment rack/cabinet
configuration, equipment must be powered from the same service panel.
