3.1.6 Lamp

The CP2000-M/MR can be used with either a 1800W lamp (CDXL-18SD) or a 2000W lamp (CDXL-20SD)
located on the rear-side of the projector. The rear access door and internal lamp door must remain closed and
locked for all normal operation. Trained operators can access the lamp via a medium-security key. Complete
lamp specifications are provided in

3.1.7 Lens Mount and CP2000-M Motorized Auxiliary Lens Mount (M-MALM)

The lens mount secures and seals a primary zoom lens within the projector and provides motorized adjustments
of focus, zoom and offset. Adjacent to the primary mount, an optional M-MALM may be added, providing a
mechanism for positioning a 1.25x anamorphic lens or a 1.26x wide converter lens in front of the primary lens.
The wide converter lens "zooms" the image from flat to scope image formats. The anamorphic lens
horizontally spreads the image back into its wider 2.39:1 scope image and is typically used in side-masking
theatres and on larger screens. When using an anamorphic lens the incoming data must be scaled up to a higher
vertical resolution in order to work correctly.

3.1.8 Security Locks

Critical internal components and/or connections are protected by various security locks on projector covers/
access panels. This safeguard enables only authorized personnel to access certain restricted areas of the
projector. The projector's panels cannot be removed with standard tools unless the key locks are open.
• Panels with high-security lock: Light Engine and Cardcage
• Panels with low-security lock: Rear Access Door and Top Cover
• No locks: Air Filter Access Panel

3.1.9 Signal Input and Communications Panel

Located on the operator-side of the projector (left-side) is a communication panel consisting of two
I/O panels, which provide connection of external devices; such as servers and a controller.

User I/O Panel

Located above the PCM interface panel is the User I/O panel, which provides connection of external devices.
The six ports on the panel include:
connected to the M-MALM or SCCI connectors on the faceplate. DO NOT connect a laptop or
PC to these connectors - damage will occur.
• Fire Alarm: Connect this terminal to the theater's fire alarm system, as required by local fire safety codes.
A jumper is provided to close this connection by default. When connecting to the fire alarm system use a
relay to short the connector when the fire alarm system is OFF and to open the connector when the fire
alarm system is triggered. An open connector turns the lamp OFF and generates an alarm, which is
displayed on the CDP.
• SCCI: Simple Contact Closure Input provides the following functions upon a simple dry contact closure:
Power ON/OFF, Lamp ON/OFF and Douser OPEN/CLOSED. Refer to
page B-3
for SCCI pinouts.
• Control Display Panel: The CDP connects into the User I/O panel through the XLR port and enables local
projector control and status display.
