Using the Web User Interface

In addition to using the CDP, most projector functions can be controlled remotely, typically at a controller such
as a PC, via a web user interface on an Ethernet network. If you are on a segregated network (isolated
network), performance is significantly optimized if HTTP is used instead of HTTPS (SSL) when connecting
the web browser to the projector. Use HTTPS (SSL) when there are concerns about network security. If using
HTTPS (SSL), it is essential Internet Explorer 7 is used as the web browser since it has significant
performance improvements over Internet Explorer 6 when handling SSL connections. This section of the
manual details the web user interface. For more information on controlling the projector via serial API, refer to
Appendix A: Serial
according to settings recorded in the password-protected menus.

3.5.1 User Access and Rights

Accessing different web user interface menus and functions depends on login. There are five distinct
password-protected levels of use, as identified in Table 3.3. Each level has the rights of lower levels, plus
additional rights as shown.

Any user can view basic projector status, diag-
nostic information, software version informa-
tion.
Operators can view additional projector infor-
mation such as serial number, software ver-
sion, and also turn the lamp ON or OFF.
This level can view the same menus as the
Operator level, but with the ability to add a
new lamp in the Advanced: Lamp History
menu.
Advanced Operators can access 2 additional
menus (Channel and Advanced) where they
can define all display setups, configure 3D dis-
plays, optimize light output, record lamp
changes, activate test patterns and set certain
system parameters.
NOTE: Advanced Operators can add users
and set user access rights from its level and
below only.
