Equipment Description
Equipment Description
The ASAP 2460 surface area analyzer is comprised of a Master Module, containing two analysis ports
and application software for controlling the analyzer. Up to two Auxiliary Modules may be purchased,
increasing the system from a two-port unit to a six-port unit. A computer monitors and controls analy-
ses, reduces, reports and archives data for each sample.
The ports can be operated independently or concurrently and can perform analyses of at least 50 hours
without refilling the dewars. Each port can accept a range of sample tube neck diameters (1/4-, 3/8-, or
1/2-in. OD). Analysis operations can be monitored on the computer screen with the Instrument Sche-
matic and Status windows.
For very low surface area analyses, a Krypton option is available. The option consists of a high-vac-
uum pump, low pressure transducer, and software. If this option is purchased with the instrument, it is
factory-installed. It is also available as a field upgrade.
For micropore analyses, the Micropore upgrade is available. When purchased with the instrument, this
upgrade is factory-installed. The upgrade can also be added to nitrogen or krypton units in the field.
