Cause
The inspiratory anaesthetic concentration exceeds
the upper alarm limit in each case.
The upper alarm limit has been exceeded for at
least two breaths.
The inspiratory O concentration is below the

lower alarm limit.
The heart rate is below the set limit.
No pulse detected during invasive measurement.
Airway pressure exceeds the upper alarm limit.
Ventilation hose buckled? Stenosis?
Pulmonary problem? Cough?
Negative airway pressure measured.
End-expiratory pressure exceeds PEEP by more
than 10 mbar.
The measured invasive pulse is below the set
alarm limit.
Pulse rate has dropped below the set
alarm limit.
Oxygen saturation is below the set lower
alarm limit.
No pulse signal detected by SpO
for approx. 10 seconds.
Fault in ventilator pressure sensor.
Filter in pressure measuring hose blocked (water
absorption!)
Control pressure in ventilator too low.
Hardware fault in ventilator.
Machine not operational!
Remedy
Check setting of anaesthetic
vaporizer.
