Tamper Detect (fault current detection)
The "Tamper Detect" function can be used to detect fault currents resulting from
defective machines and equipment.
In a 3-phase supply network, the following holds in the fault-free state: The sum
of the instantaneous values of the line currents corresponds to the current in the
neutral conductor. Therefore, the I/O module calculates the sum of the
instantaneous values of the line currents:
and subtracts the instantaneous value i
this sum in a time-synchronous manner. This yields the fault current:
If this is greater than the configured threshold (WAGO-I/O-CHECK or parameter
32/33), this is signaled the process image.
Current converter with "Tamper Detect" function
For correct use of the "Tamper Detect" function, the current converters in all
measurement paths must be of the same type.
Threshold values
The I/O module offers the option of threshold value monitoring. Thresholds for
undervoltage, overvoltage and overcurrent can be set for each phase (WAGO-
I/O-CHECK or registers 36, 37 and 38 and parameters 12, 13, 14 and 23 ... 31).
Signaling is carried out in the process image (PI).
